Kurn Hattin Homes for Children serves at-risk boys and girls, ages five through fifteen, from families throughout the Northeast who are affected by tragedy or social/economic hardship. Kurn Hattin is a charitable, year-round residential school with 125 years of service to children in need and their families.
Students live in cottages with nine or ten others in their age group and one houseparent. Each cottage provides a comfortable family-style atmosphere with two or three children in a bedroom. Houseparents help provide the structure and support that each child needs to succeed.
Kurn Hattin's state-approved school for grades kindergarten through eight provides a challenging academic environment.
Admission is available year-round and is based on a child's potential to benefit from a structured and supportive residential and educational program. Thanks to the generous financial support of Kurn Hattin's donors, admission does not depend on a family's ability to pay.
Anyone may call to request an application. Applications continue to be accepted throughout the year. The application process helps us determine whether our program can meet a child's needs. If you know of a child or family who might like to explore the option of attending Kurn Hattin, please contact the Admissions Office by phone (802-721-6932) or by email.
