Westminster, Vermont—Kurn Hattin Homes for Children has been awarded the top-level 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the largest independent charity evaluator in the U.S. The rating is the highest rank an organization can receive in recognition of sound fiscal management practices and a commitment to accountability and transparency. Only a quarter of the highest-performing charities listed by Charity Navigator hold the four-out-of-four star distinction.

Westminster, Vermont—Kurn Hattin Homes for Children is pleased to announce the appointment of Noah D. Noyes, M. Ed to the position of school principal.
Following an extensive search process involving a committee of highly-respected faculty, staff, and administrators; Mr. Noyes, a native of Hyde Park, Vermont, emerged as the outstanding choice to lead Kurn Hattin's academic department. His tenure became effective July 1, 2015.

Kurn Hattin Homes for Children Welcomes New Board Members
WESTMINSTER, VT. — Kurn Hattin Homes for Children recently welcomed two new members to its Board.
Phil Perlah is a Member, Development Review Board, Town of Chester, Vermont; Board Member and Treasurer, Parks Place Community Center; and Member, Audit Committee, The Core Group Inc. He is employed part time by the Himalayan Cataract Project in their Finance Department. He has served as Finance Director of Amref Health Africa (USA), a $10 million NGO until 2014. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer and Counsel at The Seiden Group, an advertising agency that had $50 million in gross billings. Phil has served as counsel at Sara Lee Branded Apparel (now HanesBrands International); Chesebrough-Pond’s (now part of Unilever); and IBM. He has also practiced law in his own firm. He is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and Brooklyn College. Phil lives in Chester, Vermont with his wife Lois.
Media Release: Kurn Hattin Historical Exhibit Opens at Vermont History Museum April 11
The Vermont Historical Society celebrates the Month of the Young Child with a showing of Kurn Hattin Homes for Children's historical exhibit, entitled A Legacy of Caring: Adapting to the Changing Needs of Children and Families. The exhibit, which tracks the historical evolution of one of Vermont's longest-standing child and family service agencies, will be on display at the Vermont History Museum, 109 State Street, Montpelier from April 11 through October, 2015.

Kurn Hattin Homes for Children welcomes the public to attend its Annual Jazz Invitational on Wednesday, April 8th at 7:00 pm, with performances by the Bellows Falls Union High School Jazz Ensemble, The Putney School Jazz Ensemble Vermont Academy Jazz Ensemble, and the Kurn Hattin Jazz Ensemble.
Kurn Hattin Homes for Children’s Sanderson Announces Plans to Retire
Connie Sanderson, Kurn Hattin Homes for Children's Executive Director, has announced her plans to retire after nearly three decades of service to the 120-year-old non-profit children’s services agency. Sanderson intends to step down from her current position later this year. She will assist in the transition to a new Executive Director and remain on staff until a new leader is in place, after which time she will continue to serve Kurn Hattin as a key fundraiser on a part-time basis.
