Kurn Hattin Choir to Accompany Hospice Butterfly Release

Voices on Wings of Hope

Westminster, September 4, 2012 On Sunday, September 9th,  select members of the Kurn Hattin choir will perform at the Wings of Hopesm benefit for Hospice of Vermont/New Hampshire. The event will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Landmark College in Putney, VT.

The ceremony will include the simultaneous release of live butterflies in honor of friends and family members who have passed away. Event organizer, Jolene Archambeault, says the choir was specially chosen for the poignant occasion. “When I mentioned the idea to have the Kurn Hattin children perform, a colleague said, ‘They’ll will bring everyone to tears’ says Archambeault, “I knew from then on they were the perfect fit for our event.”

The 40-member select choir will perform several pieces in remembrance of those being honored. Choir Director Lisa Bianconi says Sunday’s event is a unique opportunity. “It’s going to be amazing,” she says. “The children understand the value of Hospice to the community and are looking forward to sharing this experience.”

Since Kurn Hattin’s inception in 1894, the music program has been an integral part the school’s curriculum. Well-known for its moving performances, the choir hosts an annual choral invitational and performs in over thirty musical engagements per year.
