2010 The Student Council coordinated fundraisers for the Haiti Relief Fund, to respond to the earthquake disaster in Haiti 
2011 Renowned mystery author Archer Mayor was the special guest at the 11th Annual Ziggy Ostrowski Mystery Writers’ Contest Banquet at Kurn Hattin Homes 
2012 Christopher W. Barry retired after 40 years of service (17 years as Executive Director)
2013 Thomas G. Fahner and Connie Sanderson were installed as Co-Executive Directors 
2013 Kurn Hattin was recognized as one of thirty-one businesses and organizations that successfully met Efficiency Vermont’s Energy Leadership Challenge to reduce energy use by at least 7.5% over two years 
2013 The first annual Charles Albert Dickinson Award, given in recognition of an individual or organization whose philanthropic commitment embodies the mission of Kurn Hattin Homes, was presented to the National Society of New England Women. The award was received by NSNEW President General, Linda Brown Jones 
2013 The Children’s Chorus performed a medley of favorite holiday classics at the Annual Governor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Statehouse in Montpelier, Vermont 
2014 Legendary jazz trombonist Richard (Dick) T. Nash ’42 was presented with Kurn Hattin’s first ever Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award, while surrounded by his family and fellow graduates at the 120th Anniversary Celebration 
2014 The second annual Charles Albert Dickinson Award, given in recognition of an individual or organization whose philanthropic commitment embodies the mission of Kurn Hattin Homes, was presented to the Rite Aid Foundation.
2014 Music Director Lisa Bianconi was honored as a top ten finalist for GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year 
2014 Teacher Mary Kay Pfadenhauer was awarded Accelerated Reader Model Classroom status. The certification demonstrates that a majority of students met or exceeded goals for reading practice and comprehension 
2014 Librarian Sally Mundell was named a Renaissance Distinguished Educator, an honor reserved for educators who have achieved optimum student growth and are dedicated to helping all students learn, grow, and achieve 
2014 After performing Center Stage at the 2014 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, the Kurn Hattin Homes Jazz Ensemble participated in a private workshop with award-winning New Orleans alto sax legend, Big Chief Donald Harrison 
2014 Connie Sanderson was the first woman installed as Executive Director 
2014 The Alumni Association and friends celebrated the 120th Anniversary of Kurn Hattin’s founding 
2015 Thomas G. Fahner passed away after nearly 25 years of service 
2015 The third annual Charles Albert Dickinson Award, given in recognition of an individual or organization whose philanthropic commitment embodies the mission of Kurn Hattin Homes, was presented to John and Carol Hubbard.
2015 In a social enterprise partnership with Whitney Blake Company and Integrated Solar, an unused portion of property was developed to add an array of 648 energy-producing solar panels to reduce energy costs 
2015 The Kurn Hattin Select Choir performed The National Anthem at Fenway Park in September, opening for the Boston Red Sox against the Tampa Bay Rays 
2015 The Kurn Hattin Select Choir performed the Vermont State Song, “These Green Mountains” for Governor Peter Shumlin at the Vermont Gubernatorial Inauguration 
2015 Members of all departments collectively agreed on five Core Values that defined the work done at Kurn Hattin: Perseverance, Nurturance, Hope, Compassion, and Sense of Worth 
2015 Music Director Lisa Bianconi was honored by Western New England Public Television station WGBY, as one of WGBY’s American Graduate Champions 
2015 Executive Director Connie Sanderson retired after 29 years of service 
2015 Stephen Harrison was installed as Executive Director 
2016 Teachers Ann Hadley and Mary Kay Pfadenhauer retired after a combined 76 years of service 
2016 Lyssa Jackson ‘08 was awarded the 2016 Catherine Hershey Alumni of the Year Award by the Coalition of Residential Excellence (CORE). Catherine Hershey Residential Education Awards honored outstanding staff, students and supporters whose contributions exemplified the essence of residential education 
2016 The fourth annual Charles Albert Dickinson Award, given in recognition of an individual or organization whose philanthropic commitment embodies the mission of Kurn Hattin Homes, was presented posthumously to George W. Nostrand. 
2017 Sergio Simunovic became School Principal and began the process of updating curriculum and accreditation.
2017 Malcolm "Sam" Streeter passed away. Sam served as Principal from 1956-1985, as Trustee from 1998-2015, and was elected Trustee Emeritus in 2015.
2017 After 22 years of inspiring students to be lifelong readers, Sarah "Sally" Mundell retired at the end of the academic year.
