Responsible for house parenting and supervision of activities as assigned. Some cottage coverage may be assigned to maintain a wholesome and comfortable living environment while teaching responsibility, manners, personal hygiene, cottage cleanliness, and offering a feeling of security for the children. Counsel children, both in groups and individually, to provide guidance, advice, and assistance in relation to personal and school problems. Maintain cottage housekeeping standards and all recreational facilities according to Kurn Hattin Homes and State requirements. Use the Kurn Hattin system of discipline.
This position requires at least two years of child care experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in childcare related field. It is a full time position with all benefits included.
Come enjoy helping mold the lives of eleven children in a residential setting. Kurn Hattin is offering a 40 hour position completed in three and a half days. Spend time with the children for four days and then pursue other interests the rest of the week.

Elementary School Teacher
New England Kurn Hattin Homes is a residential school nestled on 300 acres in beautiful Westminster, Vermont. The 100 students in grades k-8 come from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds. We are looking for an individual to work with our diverse learners to inspire them to become independent thinkers and responsible citizens.
We are seeking a primary teacher beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator to develop a positive rapport with students, colleagues and families. The lesson plans will include language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, while developing strong literacy and numeracy skills among all learners.
A Bachelor’s degree combined with strong collaborative skills and a knowledge of current best practices are required.
