At Kurn Hattin, our goal is to support the well-being of the whole child—mind, body, heart, and spirit. In addition, we provide support and help connect families with appropriate resources to meet their unique situational needs.

Health Services and Health Center
Our nursing staff provides care for common illnesses and injuries in the campus infirmary. A child’s family continues to be responsible for regular physicals, eye, and dental exams and immunizations.
Health education plays an important role in helping the children to understand the importance of staying healthy, happy, and respectful of their bodies.
Please contact Shannon Niemiec, Director of Health Services at sniemiec@kurnhattin.org or call (802) 721-6903, with any questions.
Counseling Services
Our licensed, professional counselors offer one-to-one counseling sessions as well as group support for topics such as dealing with grief, building and maintaining peer relationships, and managing anger.
Counselors are available to meet with parents, guardians, and family members, whether to check in or to provide guidance on specific concerns or questions.
Please feel free to contact the Director of Counseling at (802) 721-6958 with any questions.
Family Outreach
Kurn Hattin’s Family Outreach Program updates families regularly on children’s progress and campus events, and can assist with transportation arrangements and transitions.
For the 2020-2021 school year, due to the new COVID19 protocols that are in place for the health and safety of the entire Kurn Hattin community, family members will be encouraged to keep in touch frequently via phone calls, including using Facetime, Zoom, and, Skype. We will facilitate family visits on campus on specific Sundays throughout each part of the school year so that children and their families may visit while still maintaining safety protocols.
Kurn Hattin will also help families develop and carry out a plan for a successful transition beyond our program, recognizing that this is different for each child and family. The Family Outreach Coordinator assists families in finding community resources for counseling, education, financial aid, and transportation assistance.
Working together, families and Kurn Hattin can offer children the opportunity for success and happiness.
Please feel free to contact Tenielle Stone, Family Outreach Coordinator, at tstone@kurnhattin.org or call (802) 721-6945, with any questions.
